Our safety standards In Mikomoto
Dive operators around Mikomoto area(Mikomoto Diver conference) make local safety rules for all dive shops and divers.
We also make own safety standards based on these rules.
- Certified divers must be Advanced Open Water Diver level or qualifying certifications (The maximum allowed depth is 30m) and bring proof of their qualification.
- Prerequisites:Minimum 100 logged dives before diving in Mikomoto.
- Prerequisites:Must have experienced scuba dive within 6 months before diving in Mikomoto.
- For Guests over 60 years old, you WILL NEED to provide us with a medical doctor’s certificate stating in English you are medically fit to dive prior to your dive trip.
- 1 dive guide (dive leader) can only dive with max 6 divers (guests).
- It is forbidden to dive deeper than 30 meters on a recreational dive in Mikomoto. Decompression diving is completely prohibited.
- All divers must bring own Dive computer and Surface Marker Buoy(SMB). If you do not have one, please ask the staff.
- Diving time is always within 40 minutes (Including safety stops).
- Always check your air pressure gauge (air supply). Once they reach 70 BAR pressure, you must stop the diving, begin to ascent and make a safety stop.
- We must always make a safe stop while using Surface Marker Buoy(SMB).
- We prohibit solo diving (without dive buddy). Never dive alone. Always dive with a buddy.
- All divers can communicate with our staff in Japanese or English without a language translator.

- Please make reservations at least 3 days prior to departure.
- Our rental equipment is limited and we may not be able to accept your request, so please be sure to make reservations and confirmation in advance.
- Once your reservation has been confirmed, all paperwork for each section must be completed prior to the the day of departure. All divers must complete the diver registration pages.
And we will check your Certification card and Dive insurance on the first day of the diving tour. - All guests are asked to complete our Diver Medical form. Please note if you answer “YES” to any of the questions, you will need to supply a medical doctor’s certificate stating in English you are medically fit to dive prior to your dive trip. (Take this form to your doctor. Ask the doctor to read the following section, examine you, and fill in the certificate.) - If the diving tour in Mikomoto is canceled due to bad weather, we will inform you to reschedule the diving tour on another day. We will not charge diving fee and cancellation fee. We also will refund your deposit.
- We strongly recommend that All guests purchase Travel Insurance and Dive Insurance that includes trip cancellation insurance, evacuation and medical cover.
Dive In Mikomoto means you often dive in far away from Emergency medical services and recompression chamber, where an accident might be taken a journey of several hours before you reach help. - Kaiyusha can not be held responsible for any damage, loss or theft of any personal belongings. Furthermore, Kaiyusha can not be held responsible for dive equipment stored in their facilities or vehicles as the service is offered in good faith.
- If you need to cancel or change your reservation, please contact us as soon as possible. You will be charged “Cancellation Fees” if you cancel within the indicated period.

*On the day of departure If you are unable to dive due to hangover, poor physical condition (self-reported or staff judgment), equipment trouble, etc.、You will have to cancel the dive and will be charged the price of 2 dives.
*No cancellation fee will be charged, if you cannot dive in Mikomoto Island due to bad weather conditions or our diving boat problems
Time Schedule
** When we spend on the surface between dives, we will stay around Mikomoto Island without returning to the harbor.
* We recommend a surface interval time of at least one hour between dives.
* We pick up / drop off at the Hotel / “Izuku-Shimoda” Station, if you need it.
* Please bring lunch with you or order in advance.
* Time schedule is subject to change without notice due to participants and weather condition.
